Ported Pelham (Low Port)

R400.00

The Port Mouth Pelham contains a low port in the middle of the mouth piece allowing for more space for the horses tongue (in large breeds or horses with large tongues, this low port has however been found to pinch). When the reins are applied, pressure is placed on the horses palate and poll to assist in both lowering the horses head as well as bringing the horse’s nose closer to the horse’s chest.

Description

As with all Pelham’s, double reins should be used, one as a snaffle rein which has direct contact with the horse’s mouth and a second curb rein to apply poll pressure and bring the horses nose more towards its chest. Rein connectors can be used.
